So Irma whooped Florida's butt in terms of power outages, including my hometown. As far as damage we were pretty lucky but my friend was trapped on her street due to downed trees. One of her neighbors had their house SQUISHED (because there is no term that describes it better) by a tree and pictures of it wound up on a local news outlet's twitter. She only just got her power back Thursday morning.

The power started going out well before the storm made landfall so I didn't feel good about having my PC on even before the prolonged outages began.
