So my patrons might recognize the moose reference.  Since it will probably be a while until we get around to explaining it, most of the other fighters he dealt with were mixed race (sons of prostitutes) and spoke only Rethuii.  They were the ones who gave him his nickname.

Edit for clarity:  JUNUKA IS SAENGORIAN.  FULL-BLOODED SAENGORIAN.  Patrons have seen his mother, she's not Rethuii.  Not all prostitutes in the South are Rethuii.  

Zhuri is mixed.  He's the only one in the comic so far.  

I don't want this comic to be about one race versus another.  Junuka is one of the characters that represent the good in the Saengorian people.  He bridges the gap with shared experiences/ upbringing.  Zhuri does so with blood ties.  Azhari does so with romance.  Mizha does so with friendship.  

I want this to be about people coming together despite differences.  Not glorifying one people over another, which I feel would happen if Junuka were mixed race.  No one gets to claim he's only a good guy because he's got Rethuii blood in him.

(He's tall because he grew up eating the same high-calorie foods as the other Rethuii people he lived with.)
