So Orlando.

You have to understand, I'm from Florida.  This isn't just close to home, this is my front yard.  I have a friend who lives three miles from this club and I'm so glad he's ok.

I don't care who the shooter was.  I don't care what religion he claimed he did this for.  I don't care where his parents were from.  As far as I'm concerned, he was American.  And new reports make it sound like he didn't even do this out of homophobia as he was apparently a regular at the nightclub he shot up.  It's just an all-around tragedy.  So many people dead, injured, and grieving, and for what?  A life is worth more than some idiot's five minutes of look-how-cool-I-am bullshit.  

I am so proud of the people of Orlando for stepping up and donating so much blood.  

Now can we all just take some advice from a damn '80s movie and be excellent to each other?
